Why It Is Demanding

High Salinity Changes Every Layer

Seawater reverse osmosis runs at far higher salinity and pressure than brackish or tap water. That changes the membrane sheet, feed spacer, adhesive, outer wrap and the way the element is manufactured and tested.

Seawater needs a high-rejection seawater RO membrane. Our core flat sheet covers low-pressure/brackish grades — for seawater grade, talk to us.

Feed spacer selection balances flow and fouling on pre-treated seawater feed.

What does WECOME supply for seawater reverse osmosis?

We supply the materials, components and production equipment used to manufacture SWRO elements — feed spacer, permeate carrier, robust central tubes, brine seals, end caps, glue, tape and fiberglass wrap, plus 8040 rolling, FRP winding and testing machines. Seawater-grade flat sheet membrane is available on request. We do not sell finished elements or desalination systems.

Which element size is used for seawater desalination?

8040 is the workhorse for large SWRO plants, with 4040 for smaller systems. We supply the components and machines for both.

How is a seawater element different from brackish?

Seawater runs at much higher salinity and pressure, so it needs high-rejection seawater membrane and a high-pressure build — stronger central tube, reliable seals and a strong FRP outer shell. See brackish water for the lower-pressure case.

Do you sell finished SWRO membrane elements or systems?

No. WECOME is an upstream supplier — materials, components and production equipment for element manufacturers. We do not sell finished SWRO elements or complete desalination systems.
