A feed spacer is a diamond-mesh netting that sits in the feed channel — the gap between adjacent membrane leaves where feed water flows across the membrane surface. It keeps that channel open, promotes turbulence to reduce fouling, and sets the feed-side pressure drop.

What Is a Permeate Carrier?

A permeate carrier is a tricot knit fabric sealed inside the membrane envelope. Once water passes through the membrane, the carrier gives it a low-resistance path to spiral inward to the central tube, while supporting the membrane against collapse under pressure.
